SAAB 900S FOR 1982
Safety Design in Distinctive Four-Door Sedan Styling
Ever since their introduction in 1950, the Swedish-made Saab cars have been considered among the safest cars anywhere. Originally designed by air- craft engineers, Saabs have always had front-wheel-drive and a safety body which in the 1982 Saab 900 incorporates strong steel members in the roof rails and windshield pillars, protective bars in the door panels, and strategically placed cross members in the floor, all joining to form a defense perimeter around the passenger compartment. For 1982 the Saab 9OO line includes the basic Saab 900 model; the luxury Saab 90OS in both a four-door sedan version, pictured above, and a three-door hatchback configuration; and the Saab 900 Turbo. New for 1982 in the Saab 900S line are the distinctive alloy wheels.
