SAAB 900 FOR 1982
Expanded Line -- New Low Rolling Resistance Tires
The Swedish Saab-Scania corporation, maker of the Saab 900 cars, has always been known as an innovator in the design and production of automobiles. Saab was one of the first family cars to offer turbocharging, now widely copied, and all Saabs, since the first one in 1949, have had front-wheel-drive, rapidly becoming an auto industry standard. For 1982 the Saab 900 will be one of the first cars in the U.S. equipped with the revolutionary new low rolling resis- tance Pirelli P8 tires. According to the Italian tire pioneer, the Pirelli P8 has about 20 percent lower rolling resistance than a regular steel belted radial tire, thus adding considerably to a car's fuel economy. For 1982 the Saab 900 line will include both the three-door hatchback model, pictured above,
