Well, I'm kind of an idiot. When I looked in the Bentley book, I couldn't find anywhere where it specifically said which fan was which. My main cooling fan is working fine, but my A/C fan was completely shot. However, I also thought due to some of the posts on here that on a Turbo car, both fans should come on when the temp rises. However, I've also found posts now that conflict with this. In an old issue of Saab Journal, I found a cooling tech article on C900's that says that the A/C fan will not run on any 900 unless the A/C is turned on. However, when I bought my car, the belt going to the A/C compressor was missing and the system had no pressure, so even if I push the switch for the A/C, the fan doesn't come on.
I went to the junkyard today and got a superb A/C fan off of a 1993 non-turbo. Oddly, it was the same fan as the main fan on my car but in the housing for the A/C fan. What I'm planning on doing now is wiring up a toggle switch based off a wiring diagram in the previously mentioned issue of Saab Journal, so I can turn the A/C fan off and on as I please.
