Is cross-country car shipping still a thing? Suggestions?

As my trusty 2001 9-5 Aero draws close to its end due to 19 years of rust, I'm looking at a replacement vehicle of some kind. I see a lot of low mileage cars out in CA and FLA (I'm in western NY State) - but of course, getting them shipped cross-country seems a bit daunting. Who to trust? How much to pay? Insurance?
Many many years ago we bought a slightly used 9-5 wagon from Missouri - on eBay, no less. It was still under factory warranty. It arrived on a small car trailer behind a huge pickup truck. One of the other cars on the trailer was a RED Delorean! The Saab was in beautiful shape, save for a cracked fog light - which the seller replaced when we sent a photo. I think the cost was like $500 or so.
Flash forward to 2024. Would you ship a decent car (not a Lambo, but maybe a Volvo...) from CA or FLA across the country? Who would you use, and how much could you guess it would cost? If the car was being purchased from a legit car dealer, would you trust their shipping recommendation, if they had one?
There literally dozens of shippers online, but I have no way of evaluating any of them.
TIA!
