Don't know the year/model of your car so I answer for the 2003 and older body style since I don't know about the newer one.
Since you admit you are not an mechanic it might be a challenge for you.
No it's not just to get the bolts out of the pan and drop it down.
You need to remove the plastic air guides in the front, remove the 6 bolts holding the subframe to car body and support the rear of transmission when the subframe comes loose.
The subframe can still be attached to wheels by the ball joints.
You need to remove the shield at transmission bell housing and the PCV hose attached to oil pan.
Now it's a matter of removing all the bolts and remove oil pan.
You need to clean the mating surfaces really good of old sealant material and know how to appply new anerobic sealant and MAKE SURE it is no oil whatsoever between the two surfaces when installing the new oil pan. Oil will destroy the chemical bond of the sealant. Install a new o-ring on the oil pick up tube
As I said, if you are only working with jack stands it might be a lot of work laying on your back trying to get it done compared to paying a shop to do it.
It's difficult to give advice without knowing the ability of the person asking and what kind of tools/resources they have.
Good luck
Anders
