After mulling it over for about 40 years, I finally leased an '04 vert on the last day, 1-3 05. MSRP 45,614 (touring, xemons,AT,onstar, cold weather). Steel Grey w/ grey. Selling price to me after $3000 lease incentive was 40,443. No lease loyalty for me. Usual lease trems (.00038, 39 months). I put 2200 down on the lease plus taxes and acq fees and 430/month plus sales tax. Bad part is car is 100 miles away on the other side of snowstorm. Dealer is delivering car a little later. Local dealer's car had parchment package (which looks a lot better on the floor than it does outdoors). Plus the package was almost $2000 and was only mica paint, wheels and inflation detectors. 17" wheels are great but I already have 2 sets of snows and could not live with three (would not fit in vert).
I was only going to lease since the deal was so good and you never know about a vert in cold weather. This way I have an exit stategy-always good. Rejected buying a CPO. Don't think the three year cost of CPO including depreciation would be that much different than lease. New vert is a lot better car (not better looking imho).
This car was on the lot for a long long time. Should I be concerned?
Thanks to all especially Mike L. for advice on color, cost, etc. I couldn't chance that the lease deals would end. I thought about Linear lease which I guessed would be about 400 but I don't think I paid that much more for a fully loaded car. I can't wait for the snow plows to finish so I can get my car.
