I have a 2004 Arc Convertible and love it. I don't know what Andrew's problem is. You don't have to choose the lime yellow. Steel grey looks great. If you liked its looks, then that's what matters. I think it's better looking than the old 'verts and a lot better visibility from inside (not to mention absence of cowl shake!) The butt has some huge lights that reduce its beauty from directly behind, but that probably makes it less likely to be rear-ended. I drive a manual only, so the Audi is out for me. That continuous belt-drive transmission is nice if you like your car to choose your gear ration for you, though. The BMW is a lot more expensive and your rear seat passengers will thank you for buying a Saab. (Also, the Saab is a lot better looking with the top down b/c the rear headrests retract, unlike the Audi and BMW.) The turbo lag exists but it's minor and the car is more powerful that anything you need in real life.
In LA, there are dozens of Audi and BMW verts everywhere, so it's nice to be able to find my car in the lot.
Also, I don't know about the remote abilities in the competition, but you will come to love the remote top down feature as you walk up to your car, and the ability to lower or raise the top in traffic up to 20 mph. As a convertible driver since my first car 23 years ago, those two things make a difference.
I personally couldn't see the advantage of the Aero (except for the two-tone seats, maybe) over the Arc, but it you like the added things, go for it. But watch for scraping in driveways.
Andrew
