other stuff that you buy from the store, especially the big chain stores, will usually match their own sales price, or other's sales price. For example, I bought a TV for around $300 from Best Buy and went back there 1.5 weeks later and found out that same TV is on sale for $25 less. I asked the customer service about it and they refunded me $25. (other wise, I told them that I would return it and get a full refund only to turn around and buy the same TV for $25 less - also works with competitors since you can return the tv to the store and go to other store and buy it).
Another benefits to why you should still shop after you buy is so that you won't go back to that same place you got burned the first time. If you paid too much and you didn't know about it, than most likely your next purchase from the same source is gonna be too much again. Once you found out you paid too much, just go to other places in the future.
but buying things like cars and houses probably won't apply because you are not buying exactly the same thing that competitors have for around the same price.
