OnStar is to current wireless technology as the horse and buggy are to modern automotive technology.
It's a money sucking device installed by GM that, except in extreme circumstances, is really overpriced and, even in metro Atlanta, very unreliable. I get "No OnStar" messages all the time, and if they can't get coverage in metro Atlanta, what use is it?
Sorry, OnStar just really upsets me, mainly because it prevents me from exploiting the true capabilities of the Infotainment system and the built-in phone interface.
That said I would GLADLY PAY to have OnStar upgrade the device in my car so that I could use a separate Verizon account with the phone in my car. THAT would be way cool because it shares the same number as your normal cell phone. Sadly the 9-3SS that have OnStar have the older unit.
