The competition is much less here, that's why junk like the 9-7 can sell. Also, 9-2 would never sell in Europe 'cos they have so many cars in it's class. (BMW 1 series, A3 etc) and the 92x is inferior to those cars. I also personally hate the cloth only option on the 93, my 1999 has cloth and I love it!! The diesel should be offered in one trim level (probably Arc) with manual and auto. But like I said, not without some solid market research. Timing is critical. There are a lot of people that don't care about the price of gas, but if you can have your cake and eat it, (as you can with the new diesels), then why not!!! They may have done some market research that indicated the diesel would not sell, (I doubt it) but it may be time to revisit. Also, adding a 93 diesel will cost a fraction of what it cost to add 92x (which is not selling well at all).
