I've had 2 9-3 conv. with manual heater/AC. I like manual heater AC but the SAAB execution of it was terrible in the last generation. I was one of the ones who had the whole "box" replaced because knobs kept breaking ('99) and on the '01 the knobs never felt like they were that sturdy, I never could get the temp and air director knobs to have a smooth feel.
Now I have an '04 Arc conv with ACC. While I'd still prefer a 3 knob setup (a good one) I've finally mastered the ACC to the point it's not a challenge.
I have to admit, of the 3 SAAB's I've had, the latest '04 is by far the best car of the 3 in all around quality of build and driving but it feels a little less SAAB like. If I could change anything I guess first would be to put the window switches back in the center console, put back the weather radio and make the back seat foldable on the convert like the last generation.
