Net after rebate on website.......Lease is killer...

When you pull it prices on the SaabUSA website for the GM Employee Price for Everyone, you get a base-base model, stick, no metallic paint or other options (which makes a 9-5 Arc a steal as auto, roof and heated seats are standard) the price you see is net after the purchase rebates.

My most common Saab, a $31,145 Linear, is $25,871 GM Employee Pricing for Everyone net after rebate. So the actual GMS price is $28,371 and there's a $2,500 rebate, so the net is $25,871.

GM gives us tags that have boxes for the GM Employee Price and the MSRP and all my tags are net after rebate for purchase. The trade associations caution against this. They want you to have both the GMS price and the rebate, but I'm just being practical.

And the net after rebate for a lease is $1,000 less $24,871, and the give you a subvented rate about half the normal rate. So Saab seems to be encouraging the lease for this months program. An extra $1k rebate and a low rate. And a lease has many intrinsic adavantages, sales tax treatment, diminished value from a non-total accident, option to purchase or not and the big one, it costs less by the month. As Yogi Berra would say, the money you save is worth a lot.....
