installing a hands-free in a 93 really is not that much of a problem. I've done it with the Bluetooth kit from Parrot.

You just need to know if your car has been equipped with the handsfree cable from the factory. If it has, then it's simply a matter of buying the additional adapter cable from Saab and then matching up the wires to the ones from your hands-free kit. If you don't have the Hands-free cable from the factory, you have to attach three wires to the back of the radio (Mute, Audio +/-) and one wire to the Power Adapter (cigaret plug) power below the radio.

Then bundle everything up and tie it down in the console.

The Saab connector doesn't care what type of Hands-free unit you use. It offers you a connection to mute the radio when your'e on the phone and inputs from the HF for audio that use the cars speakers for the phone. Also has connections to both 12 volt switch and constant powers sources (if your HF kit is smart enough to keep a call active when you take the key out and the radio stays on). Finally it also provides access to the built in mic that the factory installed. Using it will elimate the additional step to install the mic that came with the kit, and keep the car looking more stock. But I've heard some comments that the Saab mic is inferior to the ones you get with a HF kit.
