As a new Saab buyer (2005 93 Arc) I am wondering about a couple of things. First, what is the deal with the Infotainment LCD screen? It seems cool at first, but when you really get down to it, it doesnt really tell you much. Most of the time while the car is on, it just shows the list--Radio, CD and something else which i cannot recall at the present. It doesnt seem to have much function other than to change some settings. I understand that the Infotainment Plus with Nav has much more function, but why not make the LCD in the Arc have more to do instead of making it look all complicated and large, to not do much? I would love to have an equalizer, and volume scale(for some reason not knowing how much louder or lower i can go kinda bugs me). I think the SID is great though, actually more functional/useful than the big LCD in the middle. In addition, are there actually any radio stations that broadcast weather/traffic "banners" so that those 2 buttons on the dash actually do anything other than just scan through without finding anything? Maybe in NYC there arent any? Next, i wonder why Saab prefers the tri-color interior in the Arc, with my grey leather interior, wood trim, and THEN parchment colored pillars/roof? Thats a lot of color contrast, that i wasnt quite aware that i was getting(now almost wish i got the Black with parchment interior so that there would be less "color"--i was more worried about it getting dirty than anything). Next, why arent the "door lock with driving off" and "unlock when removing key" a standard setting on the 93? Why do we have to bring it in for a "Tech II" change? Seems like a useful option that everyone would like in their cars...And why not put the cruise control on the steering wheel instead of the Wireless phone buttons that most people dont know how or wont use-(Im not yet really for a bluetooth cell phone, then having to bring the car in to program it).Last but not least, was my salesperson lying when he told me that the Oil Quality "supercomputer" actually tests the oil quality, thickness, etc as you drive and uses that info to tell you how much life is left? Or is it like you guys said, it merely keeps track of your driving habits(I drive hard) and bases oil life on that? The bottom line is that i really love this car--i love the way it drives, i like that its unique, it has many of the intangables that i find important in a car, and it looks classy but sporty--I'm just really, really picky about my car, and was wondering if anyone else had some of the same issues, or if I'm crazier than i thought. So can anyone shed any light on the issues for me? -- :-)
