(through the magic of high-speed internet at the resort hotel from the SOC in Vermont) . . .

I test drove a SportCombi Aero today, with the V6 - and all I have to say is WOW. It feels a bit faster than my 9-5 Aero, and it's certainly quieter. We're here in a ski resort near the top of a mountain, and the test route is up and down hills, with some major twisties -- all handled with incredible panache and oodles and oodles of power.

The six speed manual is a little weird. The car has so much torque that it really doesn't matter too much what gear you in, it's hard to decide between 3rd, 4th, and 5th at certain speeds. But ultimately it doesn't matter too much.

And in some ways it's almost too quiet - you just don't notice 4000 rpm as much as you should.

All and all an absolutely incredible car. We've already bought one new car this year, so I don't think I can persuade the wife to buy another one. But the marital thinking cap is certainly on right now.
