First the exposure almost outweighs the negative. We Saab enthusiast will read between the lines and tout the strengths of our car and be happy we build a world class car that can compete in the league and arguably be the safest car. But the league has some heavy hitters, more expensive hitters true, but some right in our price range with some sharp features, and better brakes....at least as tested. The other front driver only finished 4th, tells you one bias. The new V6 puts Saab back squarely in the performance hunt for the class, something the 210hp 2.0T couldn't do, we seemed to have finished mid pack in this test.

I was overjoyed the very expensive Volvo S60R finished 7th, barely ahead of the 9-3 Aero, and was slower to boot! I was not surprised the 330i finished first as we sell them too and BMW really hit the mark, everybody will have one soon.....

I thought the 9-5 Aero mighta' been a better competitor, but that doesn't explain away some of the valid criticisms of a 9-3 Aero and a 9-5, MCE for 2006 or not, is going the wrong way in terms of being a fresh design, were talking' about the 9-5 being the old, old man in that club of eight. Time passes on and the 9-3SS is on it's FOURTH model year and there are several all new competitors, holy crap 300+hp in a baby Lexus!
