Turbo Bearing Already Bad In My '05 9-3SS

I just received a phione call from an indy Saab service place near my home. I left my '05 9-3 Linear there for an oil change and an estimate on minor deer damage to the left side of the vehicle. The shop owner tells me they saw smoke from the exhaust this morning when they started it and noticed the "whining" sound I mentioned on this board a while ago. I didn't tell them about the sound because I wanted to see if it really was anything. Lo and behold, he tells me they think the turbo bearing is going and - get this - he believes that Saab's policy of oil changes every 15,000 miles is going to cause a lot of this. I have just over 7500 right now, and fresh oil and filter, but I'm going back to frequent oil changes as a precaution. Perhaps it's the turbo that's the problem, but why take chances. I'm going in to talk to him in person this afternoon. I really hope this is not the beginning of a trend with my 9-3SS - I really love driving the vehicle.
