I know that new Saab's come with an adjustment warranty. I think it's 12 months/12 k miles, or something similar.
I've had this issue before with my dealer. Many dealers charge you a fee up front for "dealer services". I would think that Tech II set-up should be included in this fee as well.
What would make life easy for both customer and dealer, would be to give the customer a list of set-ups that could be performed and let them choose which items to change at delivery or shortly thereafter.
Part of the blame sits with Saab USA, as I have found my dealer ill-informed regarding the various Tech II options. Then when I discovered that my car came with automatic door locks, the dealer (rightfully so) wanted to be compensated for the time it takes to activate the option. I addressed this issue with Saab USA, which picked up the tab.
I would appreciate the feedback of any of the dealers who frequent this board regarding this subject.
Thanks for allowing me to address a pet peeve regarding what is otherwise a wonderful car and a good dealer.
