This weekend, I took some time to frustrate and confuse myself a little bit more w/ my upcoming purchase. Here are my impression...share your thoughts or advice
IS 250awd -- Pros: smart/keyless entry & push-start, heated and cooled seats, ez to read nav system, good sound, awesome dash, all wheel drive, great lines and looks, mp3 player input, wood or alum. dash, best mpg of the three.
Cons: Barely any movement on $38k sticker (but they'll throw in three free services--oil changes, air pressure check, wiper fluid!!), a bit slower off the line than many others (probably slower than my '99 Maxima), driver visibility not so great b/c of pillar on left side of windshield, small rear view from windows, when in my most comfy spot (raised up seat, etc), the speedometer is partiall obscured by steering wheel.
G35x awd -- Pros: smart/keyless entry & start, ventilated leather, bose sound, lots of room in front, all wheel drive, roomiest rear seat, big 280hp/270lbft torgue engine, classy almost family-like look, wood or alum. dash moves up and down w/ steering wheel position, good visibility, first 'tuneup' at 100k.
Cons: Not 'sporty enough' style, skinniest tires of the three on the awd model (215s), no mp3 player input, fairly indifferent sales team-would prefer solo test drives.
Saab 9-3 Aero: Pros: Loaded, auto, lux package for $32,500k w/ my active-duty military discount (but do you think I can still do better?); very comfortable seat and driving position; 2 year lease option, torquey and fast, paddle shifters on wheels are fun, good fusion blue color, looks are nice (but are they dated compared to rest?), mp3 hookup, cooled glove box, good visibility from driver's seat, sticks to road w/ biggest tires (235s) of the three cars, nice sales guy.
Cons: Resale compared to others, no keyless start/unlock, comfy seats are not ventilated, is look dated?, aluminum-like plastic trim.
uggg...decisions decisions. I have a feeling I can get the Infinity dealer to come down on price (I live in N.VA area) and, like the TL, it seems like a great performer. The 9-3 has a lot to offer, but I'm not 100% sold. Grr....so frustrating. I hope you Saab enthusiasts chime in w/ the most unbiased opinion as possible. Crapola.
