Sub-Standrad, Non-Upgrade-able Radio '04 9-3 SS?!?

O.K., here it is, my first complaint re my '04 9-3 SS;
I scrimped and went with the 150w stereo system when I bought the car new. Unfortunately, this system has outrageously poor sound quality and apparently can never, under any circumstance, be upgraded or modified.
There can be no after market, up-grade speakers because of the car's fiber optics. And there's no port for I-Pods without an ElectroDyne port installed, the dealer stating that to get it all hooked-up right in the dash requires dash REMOVAL at some obscene cost... And now to really just top it all off, a complete inability to have satellite radio hard-wired into the car.
I currently have an FM transmitter for my I-Pod that I plug into the cigarette lighter in the center console but the sound quality is about like listening to music through a tin can and string. Now a stereo shop says that's the only way to have satellite radio in the car as well...
So I guess all I'm trying to say is this; if you're considering buying a 9-3SS, SPRING FOR THE 300W INFO-TAINMENT SYSTEM for cryin' out loud - it's worth every dime!
My car has been flawless otherwise but I'm seriously considering trading it on one with the better stereo. I mean, honestly, for $30,000+ the 150w "system" is an embarrassment and should be dropped from the Saab line-up completly.
