Dave-
I probably have the same driver's door rattle on my 2003 9-3 Arc that you are experiencing. The door panel rattles on rough pavement or from bass from the door mounted speaker, and if I place my elbow on the armrest and gently push against the door panel the rattle stops. I only have 9600 miles on my car and other than state inspection and tire rotation at 5k miles the dealer has never touched my car. Even though it is a warranty repair I may do it myself rather than risk the dealer technicians leaving pry marks or causing more rattles.
My alldatadiy info is showing this as TSB (technical service bulletin) 858-2462 "Interior - Door Trim Rattles". Basically, they remove the door panel and install felt tape along a 320mm section of the door trim (195mm for the rear door). There are other posts on this site where people describe additional measures to stop door trim rattles, but I believe this is the official TSB on the topic.
