Let me tell you about how I have it setup and you can modify to fit your needs. In my Saab, I have three parts (all Kenwood brand). There’s a display, modulator, and in my setup a MP3 player. They all get connected in that order. This system is Sirius ready, so in order to add Sirius, you need to obtain the Sirius unit and connect it between the modulator and MP3 player. I haven’t done that yet because I drive a company vehicle in the morning, the only time I would be listening to Sirius anyway. But if that changes, I’d buying the unit and adding it to my setup.

The display fits nicely under the part of the center dash that goes inward just above the lighter socket. I used Velcro to mount it, gives access to the socket and storage tray. One problem with the display is that the backlighting is bright at night, just be aware. The modulator I mounted behind the glove box on its right side. The modulator needs power, obtained from the dash fuse block (via some fuse taps) and a nice ground bolt behind the glove box left side. The modulator also needs an antenna feed. There’s a antenna connection behind the front passenger side kick panel somewhere, black connector, you’ll see it. I had to switch them to a "motorola" type to be compatable. Then the interconnecting cable between the modulator and MP3 player goes along the passenger side under the floor trim into the trunk. I would mount the Sirius unit in the trunk, not sure where up front to put it. I was also planning on just placing the antenna on the rear deck inside the car. I’ve heard this works well, but I would use an antenna designed for home use, it’s got a better ground plane for a non-magnet surface.

The display and modulator are part # KCA-R71FM and cost around $100
The Sirius unit is part # SIR-KEN1 available from them and about $100
The nice thing is that if you want to add a CD Changer or MP3 player you’ve got the basic parts. But I believe you don’t have to - the Sirius should work by itself – but might want to double check on that. Overall the installation looks clean and if you know what your doing, taking panels off and running wire, shouldn’t be too difficult! Got any more questions let me know.
