Some may recall my earlier posts about my '03 Arc. I've had it in the shop 20 times for a total of 30 days out of service. It only as 21,000 miles on it. Talk about mixed feelings, as it's such a wonderful car and so beautiful, but nothing but unending problems. Some have been more serious, like not shifting well between 1st and 2nd, shocks and struts which needed to be replaced, and sunroof not closing. Most problems required multiple visits to fix.
Many problems have been less significant, but still unacceptable-like peeling dash buttons, squeeling brakes, lumbar adjustment failure, On-Star problems, etc.
The lastest one is so small that I'm trying to figure out if I can correct the problem vs. taking it in to the dealer for the 21st time.
All the features after "date" in the SID have disappeared. These include the two trip time and distance features, average miles per hour, and speed warning.
I certainly don't recall doing anything that might have deleted them. I don't see anything in the manual that covers eliminating them from a personal preference option.
So, I suppose it's trip #21 soon. Or, simply wait, not long I suspect, to have something else go wrong and then have this SID issue (software problem?) fixed then.
Can anyone give me a tip on fixing this myself. Not holding my breath, but....
BTW, the local Saab dealer here in Salt Lake City is going to bat for me in my request for an extended warranty. The SAAB area rep. out of California has denied the request, made first hand by the dealer's customer service manager. He is appealing this to the reps. supervisor, and I'm awaiting the decision.
