SaabUSA.com shows what?..... I don't think you'll find the US stateside price to be anywhere near as good as the European delivery pricing. I think what your dealer is referring to is that the $850 surcharge is above and beyond what a normal Aero vert with touring package would cost, the rest of the 9% off MSRP less the $2,000 travel allowance is right on.
What you're experiencing on the SaabUSA.com website is the same offer, it's just that when you don't pay the $720 destination charge for European delivery, the discount looks even better than the 9%, more like 10.5% or 11.5%, but it's all the same thing.
And you won't find the 20th Anniverseray Edtion on the SaabUSA.com website so allow an extra $850 ish "surcharge" above and beyond a 9-3 Aero vert with touring package.
I think your dealer is playing straight with you, but you're not appreciating the message.
The list on an automatic, cold package, 20th Anniveresary Edition 9-3 Aero vert, like the one I have coming here at Continental, is $46,515. I don't anticipate any big discounting, or any discounting at all for that particular model, or for any Aero for 2006 as demand seems stronger than supply. There is a $1,000 incentive from Saab right now that a dealer will likely share, but that's about it.
The European delivery fixed price I calculate on the same car is $38,534 after the $2,000 travel allowance is deducted, a HUGE bargain compared to stateside pricing.
