I have a feeling that the Tech guys are just being ADVISED not to change the DRL setting due to insurance issues. Whether or not they do what they are told or recommended is another story. When i first got my 05 Arc, I asked Zumbach in Manhattan, where i leased the car(horrible dealership in everyway as a side note), they said they WILL NOT make the change because it is against the insurance laws and it would be insurance fraud. I then stated the fact that i would report to my insurance that this car would no longer have DRL's and pay the extra 2 dollars or whatever a month it might save me in safety discounts. Still said no. Then I called up Saab in Bay Ridge Brooklyn and asked the same question. I got a very pleasant brooklyn accent saying "SURE, we can do whateva you want, but there's a charge for each change you might make if it is afta the first 45 days." It seems to me that the guys in BK dont give a crap what the rules are as long as you pay for the service time. Now if something has changed over the past few months with GM/Saab, i dont know. I just cant see Saab being so concerned with this DRL thing that they would put out a memo to the whole country not to make this change. Bottom line is it seems to be an individual dealership thing, and depending on how anal they are, they will or wont do it. IT SHOULD BE OUR CHOICE!!!
