Also, I suspect the EBD helps promote the rear brake bias as well. I've noticed that my '06 Aero SC doesn't "nosedive" in panic stops, unlike my '01 9-5 wagon and 900SET (that didn't have EBD) before it. I guess that may also contribute to the "perceived" loss in brake performance compared to previous SAABs when hard braking-although this is just conjecture on my part.
I still think SAABs choice in tires for the '06 Aero (all season tires) are the main concern for its substandard braking performance in a recent C&D comparo test. That's why I swapped my tires for Goodyear F1 GS-D3s.
