Personally, I never warmed up to the OG9-3/NG900 design. I don't like the seats except in the Viggen (or 2003 "sports seats" which are Viggen seats without the V), and I don't like the amount of "cowl shake" in the car. Safety wise, the 9-3SS CV is ahead, with much more steel around you, the pop-up rear roll bars, and stability control. The new 9-3 engine is a throughly modern reinterpretation of the Saab motor - Saab design cues all over it - smoother, more efficient, and probably more durable, being all-aluminum (no headgasket failures caused by differential thermal expansion).

In favor of the OG9-3 is lower weight (for better economy), more flexible cargo handling with the fold-down rear seat, price and availability.
