Maybe light on center only?

I have a 2001 9-5 Aero, and we recently sold a '95 Jetta GLX. I've also driven Audis, BMWs, Acuras, and other Saabs. First, I think there's a wide range of steering heaviness in German cars, and even BMW went to light steering on the 3 Series in 2001. I've driven Audis with light steering too.
But I agree Saab has a lighter feel than many others, at least on center. I find it firms up nicely off center, and gives excellent feedback and accuracy. My mother in law's 2001 9-5 Linear wagon seems firmer on-center, which leads me to wonder whether the Aero has more on-center assist to counteract torque steer. Regardless, I think Saabs, whether 9-3 or 9-5 Aeros, have much better steering feel/feedback than almost all sedans apart from BMWs. I don't think the Acuras are even close, even though they're excellent cars overall.
