After searching for threads regarding this issue, i didn't really find an answer. It seems people complain more about the buffering type sound when sunroof is fully opened. Usually I have music on fairly loud, but last night i was driving on the BQE in brooklyn with the sunroof open and music off. I really noticed how loud the wind noise is. I am talking more about the whipping of the wind over or through the angled lip the pops up when you open the sunroof. I noticed that this lip can be depressed by pushing or pulling it down with your fingers and holding it there. When i did this, all the wind noise disappeared, leaving only a mild buffering sound(windows were not down, probably causing this), but much, much more quiet that when its fully extended. Does anyone else experience this? Is this normal? Is this lip supposed to deflect the wind? Or is it meant to prevent bufferng only, a side effect of which is creating wind noise as if you stuck you hand up and held it against the wind? By the way i also notice a change in drag when i depress this lip down, like there is less resistance.
