I just test drove a new '06 9-3aero convertible to replace my 900-classic convertible. Primarily I wanted to see how the turbo drove with a manual; the 900-classic 16v-turbo with stick was deadly due to massive turbo-lag between gears. I was verty impressed witrh the power, and the fly-by-wire engine-management eliminated the lag; but there was one negative surprise. I opened the trunk...and there was no trunk. Just the vast top-enclosure.

Can I even get one (or two?) sets of clubs in that trunks?

With the 900-classic convrt., you can get one set in if you lay it in on a diagonal just-right...or two if you pull-out the drivers and lay them along-side. Normally I care my clubs and my gym-bag in the trunk of the 900-classic all-the-time, and there's still room for my breifcase and other chattels. I didn't have my clubs with me at the dealer's; but I'm really concerned. Anyone have experience with this?

I travel, and often haul "stuff" with me to client and job-site meetings, and it would seem that the convertible has no space for anything. I realise the top-enclosure retracts when the top is up, but I drive the convertible with the top down often. Is it not as "tiny" as it looks? I was disappointed that SAAB and/or GM didn't fix this design "flaw" when the redesigned the 900ng/93os body.
