It always takes me some doing to make an Edmunds price make sense. You have to seperate the incentives from the discount. And traditionally Saab incentives aren't public, but private to the dealer before tax. That's why I ask purchase of lease? I had assumed purchase in which case it very possible to get way below invoice after you deduct the incentives. If that's purposely confusing, that's what the dealer is counting on. Leases right now for 2.0Ts don't have any incentives, but purchases are being helped along. Anyway I don't monitor Edmunds for accuracy, they are often behind.
Here's a novelty, ask your dealer how he arrived at your deal and measure his disclosure. Ask them how much over invoice and what are the effects of the incentives. If they're trying to be up front with you I hope you get the car. There are many other elements that can affect the price, but commonly Saab buyers can figure that out too. Usually a dealer having to justify a deal, that is the more you understand about the dealers business promotes a fair deal and an honest profit. I can usually convince the skeptics exactly what I'm doing with the appropriate documentation and close the deal.
The strange thing about the programs this year is that this time it's "AND" the financing not or like it usually is. That is the incentives aren't in lieu of the financing, you get 3.9% 36 mos, 4.9% 48 mos, 5.9% 60 mos and even 6.9% for 72 mos from GMAC which are pretty swell rates and the incentive too, or I should say your dealer gets the incentive to help you with the price.
