I just found this site on the net and I´m impressed with all your knowledge about the SAAB 9-3. I´m currently very interested in a car at a local dealer. It´s a 2005 SAAB 9-3 SS Linear 1,8 t.
It´s equipped with the Premium 150 sound system as well as the rest of the standard equipment. 25000 km on the meter. (2500 miles in the metric system).
The only "problem" is that it was previously leased out to a car rental company called Avis. This makes me hesitate. 25000 km driven by numerous drivers of different skill and handling. The price of the car is 19000 € (180 000 Swedish crowns) which seems to be a good price. Perhaps too good, at least here in Sweden. I´ve checked the service logs and the only problem which isn´t fixed is a replacement of one of the windshield wipers.
On the other hand, the dealer has got about 6 or 7 cars which have all been leased out to the same rental company. Some of the cars have problems with oil leakage and stuff, but the car I´m interested in seems really good. I´ve taken it for a test drive and it felt good, but I´m really not a guy who can tell a good car from a great car just by driving it.
What do you think of this? Is it a bad choice to buy a car which has gone 25000 kilometres at a rental company?
