Just turned 5000+ miles on a week-end trip, about 400 miles mostly on freeways. Car remains soldid and tight, no problems since delivery except for requirement to have windows re-programmed. Performance is extremely good, and I have not experienced any of the problems posted by others. My 03 9-3 was also virtually trouble free. Relieability for two Saabs has been consistent with,or better than, last three Hondas and Audi A4 / Mercedes C-class I owned while living in the U.K.

For my recent trip:
Route: Central Illinois to Quincy, Illinois, and return
Ambient temperature: high 80s
Humidity: high
Tire pressure: 25 psi
Speed: 75mph - 80 mph freeway; limited travel on local roads and in town; couple of high acceleration bursts to 90 mph+ for passing
Fuel consumption: 26 mpg, a little lower than previous highs in the 28 - 30 range
Fuel: half-and-half mix of 89 and 93 octane (I typically fill at half- tank, and alternate between the two. If I go beyond half-tank, I fill with 91 - 93 octane, depending on availability)
Oil changes: Follow Saab recommendation -- with modern engine casting, machining, and assemly techniques, and synthetic oil, no need to change oil sooner.

Observations: 1. Ride generally superior to standard suspension except for sharp bumps which result in noticeable -- but not offensive -- impact.
2. Sport seats provide more support than standard (which are very good) and further reduce fatigue. 3. Climate-control A/C, like on previous Saab, is among best in the industry, and best on any car I've every owned. Only complaint is slightly intrusive exhaust note with the Aero. Otherwise, car continues to be outstanding. Fuel consumption in primarily city and suburban driving has been in the 21 mg - 22 mpg range; with highway mileage from 26 mpg to almost 30.

Recommendation: Pick the Aero if you are performance-oriented; otherwise standard 9-3 will provide more than acceptable characteristics. Aero features are nice though, especially the sport seats.
