I've posted about my '03 03 Arc before and it's many visits to the dealer.
We are now up to 25 in a bit over 3 years, and it's due back in the shop next week when more parts arrive.
I've pressed hard for some sort of "deal" in getting a new Saab which would acknowledge the headaches and hardship. The best they could do (Ken Graff Saab in Salt Lake City) was offer a couple hundred dollors off an extended warranty on the current reliability nightmare.
I'm currently shopping for another vehicle, and will take a $15,000 bath in depreciation. I was told to stick it out long ago because they would eliminate all the problems. Few have been eliminated, and more have occurred. I just can't see staying with this car (warranty ends in 8 months), and they will not give me a reasonable price break like you are referring to Mike.
For obvious reasons, getting a new 93, even with a price break, would take an act of faith, to say the least. However, I'd do it, because the car is truely beautiful and fun to drive.
Alas, I'm exhausted, andmy only reasonable choice now is to take a huge financial loss because of the car's lack of reliabilty and Saab's lack of flexibility in helping me into another 93.
Any advice on how to obtain the $2,000 to $3,000 off a new one when I've already been denied such a request?
Thanks,
John "dakotakid" Woeste
