safely use E85 are light duty trucks and large SUV's. The owner's manual for an E85 vehicle will clearly state that the fuel can be used. Most also have a notification sticker inside the gas cap door stating that E85 can be used. The latest identification method is yellow gas caps for 2006 vehicles that can use E85.
Ethanol is an aggresive solvent that can and will attack non-compatible plastics in the engines and fuel systems of vehicles that were not specifically designed to use the fuel.
