Rubber Trim Issue on 03 Vector

Hello fellow SAABers,
I've recently run into an issue that I haven't seen listed on the board before: the rubber and rubberized black trim pieces around my windshield and rear window are disintegrating. Huge chunks of rubber have broken off the last few times I've washed my car and I'm starting to get concerned that the windows are losing their integrity and will leak during the upcoming el nino (rainy) winter here in San Diego.
At 3.5 years and 39K miles, the car is just out of normal warrantee; otherwise, I'd definitely be knocking on the dealer's doors. Anyone have any experience or ideas on if this is a known issue, and if SAAB will cover it under good will?
It's kind of a downer on what has, until recently (I had to just replace the battery), been a very reliable and fun ride.
Thanks,
Rick
