Now i don't know what GM has in the plan for Saab with the v6. I personally feel it shoulda been more powerful when you consider that all six cylinders are feeding the twin-scroll turbo. Should be close to 300hp if you ask me but then again there may be some marketing preventing that as the 9-5 is supposed to be the flagship and therefore be the higher horsepower car. Either way, I feel GM should keep an eye on one of saabs competing brands and make note that the inline six of a bmw now has a twin turbo option. The market reason of going to the v6 was that its a smoother running engine and that because the competitors are all v6 and that maybe being a v6 and turbo would bring market share back to saab. If saab is going to continue to be the world leader in mass produced turbo charged engines they need to be the first to do everything and do it right. They did it right with APC, some people retrofitted it to there cars with turbo kits as an after market ecu. Saab shoulda capitolised on that and sold it that way but oh well. Saab also did it right with Trionic. There are only a few auto manufactuers who can say they have there own in house software development for ecu that is as advanced as Trionic. Most everybody is running bosch or the likes there off most likely.
