Observations on Saab Academy

Returned this week from Saab Academy. This is an outstanding program, and anyone who buys a qualifying Saab ought to take advantage. Here are some notes:
- Highly professional, engaged, responsive staff -- all current or ex-professional racers, carefully selected for the assignment
- Program is instructive, challenging, and fun
- Includes 9-3 and 9-5
- Experience translates into everyday application for most folks
- You can find the limits of "your" Saab without driving your Saab
- The Chateau Elan offer is directly connected with the program -- discounted room rates. Excellent resort hotel with spa, winery, restaurant choices. Restaurants highly competitive at reasonable prices.
If you can find a few extra bucks, combine the Saab Academy and Chateau Elan in a little vacation. We found this a great long-weekend getaway.
The Panoz family operates the Chateau Elan, the Panoz racing operation, and Road Atlanta. First class in all respects that we could see.
I am a long-ago autocrosser and hill-climber, and have taken other courses, including an open-wheel driving course while living in the UK. I think most Saab Aero owners would enjoy and benefit from the Saab program. My class ranged in age from 20s to about 70; men and women; some serious car people, some zero experience. Believe everybody had the same assessment. Bottom line: "Go!"
