Hello. I have a 2004 93 Aero 6 speed manual. 35k miles. I'm very happy with the car except for one problem:

The Clutch slips (very noticeable in 3rd-6th gears) when its a cold day and the car hasn't warmed up yet. Regardless of the outside temp, within 5-10min. of driving (once the car warms up to operating temp) the clutch always no longer slips. In the summer (in Ohio) I never noticed the problem. I noticed the problem last winter, took it to the Saab Dealer, and they had no idea what the problem was. They said they could pull the transmission, look around, and if I needed a new clutch then they would charge me $1700+. Thats a lot of money for a car still inside of warranty, eh?

Any thoughts as to what the problem is or how to direct a mechanic to diagnose?
