From my 9-3SS/CV/SC WIS..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: radio removal 2004 9-3, Bazza, Sat, 4 Nov 2006 01:02:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Be aware that most connectors/wiring harnesses contain fibre optics. Excessive bending (no radius less than one inch) can/will result if broken fibres!
The instructions read as if the laser is powered all the time?!? Don't examine any connector from a distance of less than one inch - eye damage could result.
1) Remove the ACC system using two Saab specific tools. These tools look like nothing more than very thin pry bars, so the ACC unit is probably just a force fit in the dash. Maybe a pair of artist's pallet knives or small cake decorating spatulas will work
2) With the ACC removed, you will see two latches, one in each corner of the dash opening. Press these towards the center of the opening and extract the EHU (Electronics Head Unit?)
To remove the CD player from the EHU, the WIS identified two Saab specific tools again. This time they each look like one half of a DIN radio removal tool. With the entire EHU on a bench you can probably jury-rig something to work.
I hope this helps. I don't have a way to print and post the WIS pages into my message.
