Bob,
I put the Avid V4S on my '05 Arc and after 250 miles returned them and went back with the oem P6. The Yoko's are good tires but not for the Saab the way I drive. The only thing they did better was a lot less noise. They are soft tires and have no way near the same steering response as the P6. The P6 have a special compound which provides very low rolling resistance compared to the Yoko's. With the Avids you'll have to keep the accelerator further depressed to keep up the same speed. Also I found the P6 breaking performance better, much quicker. The Avids just felt squishy when ever I did spirited driving and not in control, especially when they heated up! The acceleration feels better with the P6 also. Keep in mind that the Linear has less torque than the Arc so these results may be even more exagerated. The P6 has a much lower weight (19 lbs vs. 25 lbs) than the Avids. Along with the compound I suspect the weight has alot to do with the difference in characteristics. TireRack lists the specs for all the tires but very few tires have low weight. As for the P6 do not choose the 97H stay with the 93H. I find the former makes the car ride harsh, less controlled with poorer braking and traction. Have not tried the V rated P6's. Choose carefully or risk turning your 9-3 into a Camry.
Cheers John...
