The model: 2006 9-3 Aero with 8900 miles. The problem: the front, driver's side window recently lost its express up. Tried the manufacturer's recommended reset but that didn't work. Went to dealer who attempted a quick Tech II fix, while I waited, however that didn't work either. Stated that he'd have to reprogram entire system which would take 2-3 hours. I didn't feel like waiting so I took the car and left. As I pulled out I simultaneously opened the sunroof and the driver's window and heard the chime that signals a reset of the express up and down. Sure enough it was working again. Couldn't figure out why but was happy. Get to work and attempt to close window and express up is gone again.

A week or so later I again, purely by chance, closed the sun roof (which was in flip-up mode rather then fully opened) and held my finger on the driver's side up at the same time. Heard the familiar chime and lo and behold the express up was working again. And it stayed fixed to this day. The new problem however is that that very same window wouldn't open at all last Thursday which happened to be the first day this winter temperatures dropped below freezing in the Bronx. A couple of hours later after having driven the car it began to work again. Next morning: same thing. Morning after that: same thing. By Sunday, the 10th, the temperature was well above freezing and the window worked fine that morning and has since. Took the car in today anyway because I don't like the idea that I can't open my window on what appears to be very cold mornings.

One other thing: as I was driving around, I noticed cold air coming up through the panel that houses the window push buttons. It's really drafty in that spot. Never noticed it before and not sure whether it's relevant. The other odd thing is that at no time were any of the other windows, or the sunroof, affected by this glitch. And on the whole, I really like this car and have had no other issues since I leased it in February, 2006.

Anyone have any ideas?
