Just traded my Black '04 Mazda RX8 (42k miles, Grand Touring) for a Steel Gray '03 Saab 9-3SS Vector (39k miles, CPO, all options, $16.5k). The Mazda was a blast to drive, but I missed owning a Saab and needed something a bit more practical. The RX8 was only a 3 season car and the fuel mileage was abysmal. While not the ideal time of year to trade in an RX8, the asking price for the Saab was far below the norm. After looking at the repair history, the Saab appears to be a good example of a first model year vehicle (only warranty repair was for an amplifier). Additionally, dealership is replacing the door handles (fading), repainting front spoiler and and rear bumper, and changing some of the 'Tech II' settings. I hope the car is as wonderful to drive and own as my previous Saabs ('85 SPG and '99 Viggen - hopefully more reliable than the Viggen . . .). Would appreciate any advice / suggestions on 9-3SS ownership. Thanks.
