Yes, $16.9K is way too expensive for this car. Keep in mind that the previous owner most likely got hosed on the trade so I'd start with an offer of 75% of the asking price ($12.6K) and wouldn't go a penny over $13K since the car is almost out of warranty and your repair risk is high. The dealer is probably still making a decent amount at that price. As a point of comparison, there's a Saab dealer in Cathedral City CA with a certified '05 Aero, manual, 16100 miles, and looks immaculate for $17586.
