Thanks for the links. I have the 13 speaker system, but I installed new speakers. Those speakers, however, are sent through the cleansweep and from the cleansweep to the amp... (at least that's how I think it was set up). The Gain knob/toggle must be turned on for me to operate the radio and then I can control the volume from there and the factory volume knob (if the gain is turned up enough). The radio is only playing through the front speakers (Boston Acoustics component set up--door and tweeter in dash) and when I use fade, I can only hear a faint glimmer of noise coming from the rears (3-way Boston Acoustics...I wonder if they used the speaker inputs from the Saab's "factory subwoofer" speakers instead of the other ones the factory installed in the rear?). Now, when I push the new gain/toggle knob in, no noise comes out of the radio (I suppose this toggle is wired to the amplifier). However, at that point, I can turn on the aftermarket XM commander unit (which is now plugged directly in the amp but not through the cleansweep) and control the volume from the gain/toggle knob. The music comes out of the front and rear speakers, but the factory unit's bass, treble, fader, and balance do nothing. In fact, the factory radio doesn't even have to be on. Thus, I still get the crappy XM commander sound and I have no ability to control bass or treble--I should have kept the XM going through the aux input and tolerated the engine buzz. On top of all this, I get a hissing noise whether or not the radio or XM is turned on and I can increase the hiss by turning the toggle/gain switch. Ugg. I'm returning the entire thing (over $1,300 in parts and labor) to the shop. They did a great install and a professional job, but I think the Saab stumped them.
