Just fyi- a friend of mine with an '03 9-3 Arc had a completely dead battery one morning and tried to jump start using their other vehicle. He was unable to start the car and found afterwards that the sound system did not work. The dealer replaced the battery and one of the amps under warranty, although I suppose they could have put two and two together and realized that the jump start attempt blew the amp. I'm not sure what he did and did not tell them. ;^) The battery in my '03 9-3 Arc went around a month later and before I tried to jump start it I made sure to turn off the sound system and I pulled any fuse or relay I could find which was related to the Infotainment system. My jump start was unsuccessful and my car had to be taken to the dealer on the flatbed for a battery replacement under warranty. I tried to jump start the car using my wife's Expedition Eddie Bauer with heavy duty alternator. I left the cables connected for 20 to 30 minutes each time prior to trying to start the Saab. After three attempts I threw in the towel and called roadside assistance.
