Jim,

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the car. After 6 mo and 9000 mi the car is pretty solid, no rattles, no interior flaws, everything electrical works etc, only 1 extra trip to the dealer ("time for service" light came on early). Also, got the running lights turned off and reset the AC so the compressor isn't on when the car is started (I think the driver can do that one but I didn't know that at the time).

Very pleased with power and handling.

Love the interior.

Base stereo is a nice improvement from the prior version.

Seats are adequate, nicely adjustable.

Lighting features are cool.

Paint seems quality ...no flaws, pretty scratch resistent, appears thick, washes well.

I actually kind of like the stock wheels in a tacky "art decco" ish sort of over-the-top gaudy boldness kind of way. I wouldn't necessarily choose these as an option but will accept and enjoy them as part of the base package (I've seen plenty of bad wheels out there and don't find these too objectionable).

I like the fact that they changed the really bad tone on the "blinkers" to something thats only moderately cheezy (couldn't the tone at least be a user selectable option in this modern digital age and highly computerized car? How bout downloadable blinker tones from the website?!!).

The "soft touch" stuff all over the interior looks nice but hopefully won't peel off any time soon.

My only mechanical complaint is the 6 sp manual is notchy on the 1--2 shift and shifts poorly when ambient temps go below 40 deg (discussed in prior posts). I can generally work around it but it would be less annoying if I didn't have to do that. Going to the dlr soon so we'll see if they are up for the challenge :)

My commute is generally very pleasant in this car. I still do miss my '87 C900T though (awesome car that I would have kept had the pinion gear held out longer...it was getting so loud that I feared for my safety..or at least completing the trip from A to B ;). Really miss the wraparound windshield, large hatch, front lit black/white and day glo yellow/orange dials, and the overall funk factor.

Pat
