Ted, thanks for the reply. I had already read the same passages from the manual that you cited in your reply. Issue is that in the past during the normal startup mode it would show the stab control icon. Now it is showing the stab control icon with a slash thru it. It seems to me that this would indicate the start test thinks that stab control is off. However it is not in off mode. Also the sid does not show any indication of stab control malfunction.
I am assuming that indeed the stab control is functioning normally and that I simply am experiencing some kind of fault in the start up test mode.
From scanning postings on this site, it is almost and expectation that saab owners will experience this kind of issue sooner or later. Love the car, but the electronics appear to be much more glitchy than other similar cars...thanks again and will welcome any thoughts/ideas.
