I think I have the most senior '06 Aero SC on the board (purchased in 12/05) with nearly 30k miles. My mileage varies from 15-20 city (depending on vity/hwy mix and weight of R foot) and 24-28 hiway (same conditions). After my most recent service, my mileage jumped back up dramatically (especially hwy). I have an especially heavy R foot-and watching the turbo needle do its clockwise sweep is sooo much fun! I didn't get the Aero SC for fuel economy-safety, utility and speed were tops on my checklist.

I use only premium unleaded, and have my tire pressures at 41PSI. The high tire pressure is to reduce rolling resistance and preserve rim integrity from vicious potholes (and high speed driving). If you got the manumatic, try starting off in 3rd when at a stop. You can shift into 4th around 27mph, 5th around 37mph, 6th around 47mph. The auto will hold those gears until the revs drop around 1250rpms, then it downshifts. You may improve your city mileage slightly by trying my technique. I've found that it'll improve your city mileage by 2mpg if you're patient enough. Then, the question is-is that effort worth the trouble?

The manumatic tranny tends to hold the lower gears longer (which helps acceleration, but sucks gas). In my previous stick SAAB ('94 900SET), I used to skip gears (employing the 1-3-5 method), which improves mileage at lease 10+%.
