Hi, is the car your looking at a 2003 arc 4 door 9-3? If so, I can give you some info on the one I have. I leased it in 2003 brand new, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed the car, (it is my second Saab, I previously had a 1997 900se 5-door) I had a lot of weird little quirks with the 2003 Arc car, and spent alot of time at the dealer. I have been told by several dealers and mechanics since it was the first year they made that car, there were problems, that are supposedly recitified in the 2004's. I have never had any engine troubles whatsoever, it was all really annoying little things like the windows would freeze up, or not roll back up, or would roll back down as if something was stuck in the window, the sunroof did the same thing, the door locks froze up, while I was out one night, could not get into the car at all, had to call a tow truck to slimjim me into the car, then they replaced all the door handles, locks, etc. Was without my car for over a week for that one, but this kind of stuff happened alot. Then the 6-disc CD player skipped, they supposedly replaced it, it still skips. One time, while I was waiting yet again for them to fix something, a girl came in for a headlight, and I asked her if she had troubles with her 2003 9-3 and she informed me she had leased a 2003, and had so many problems, they replaced it a year later with a 2004!!!! Thankfully, all these things were under warranty, so it didnt cost me anything other than time and aggravation, but it is something for you to think about. For the record, Im returning this car in Aug at the completion of my lease, and I have 30,000 miles on it.
Good luck! Heidi
